Still Not Too Late for a Frugal Outdoor Date

We haven't done a tipsheet on frugal romance in a while. Since many of the best frugal dates are outdoors, and the New England chill is blowing through my fingertips as I write this (outside, on a laptop), let's do a quick roundup of some great FREE or very cheap dates you can do before the cold really sets in.

  • Climb a mountain
  • Rent a rowboat
  • Picnic in the park
  • Go people-watching in elegant or ethnic neighborhoods
  • Take a long bicycle ride
  • Go to a high school ball game
  • Make a game of collecting the most beautiful and the most different kinds of autumn leaves
  • Walk along a riverbank with binoculars and a bird guide
  • Find a dark, open place to observe the night sky
