"Imagination Takes Wing," a juried exhibition of art quilts, will open Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington. The exhibition, which is co-sponsored by the Contemporary QuiltArt Association (CQA) and the Museum of Flight, will run through October 3,2004.

Approximately 24 art quilts designed and made by CQA members will included in the exhibit with twelve through mid-August and another twelve exhibited through October 3. Many of the quilts will be for sale.

The idea for "Imagination Takes Wing" came from Audree DeAngeles, a member of both the Museum of Flight and CQA. "I liked the idea of having a soft, fiber show in a museum with many hard surfaces. After bringing the idea to the CQA board and getting approval, I met with the museum's Director of Exhibits, Chris Mailander. He liked the idea and that's how the show came about."

The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 East Marginal Way South in Seattle. It is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the first Thursday of each month from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Admission fees are: 4 years and under free; 5-17 years old $5; 18-64 years old $9.50; 65 and older $8.50. For more information, contact the museum at 206-764-5700 or https://www.museumofflight.org> or log onto CQA's website at https://www.contemporaryartquilt.com.
