FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 18, 2007

Inspire Fine Art is proud to announce the premier of Transcendental Territories" featuring the new media work of Raymond Salvatore Harmon. Deftly walking the edge between mysticism and technology, Harmon's work strives to become a new language of creative expression. For the viewer, Harmons work evolves from landscapes of color and noise into a language of interaction.

Harmon sees interaction as a form of creative expression and utilizes the participants involvement as a way of controlling the overall form of the pieces content. Providing a vast terrain of shifting color, light and sound, these installation environments become the medium via which the participant can give expression to the evolving form of the work.

Raymond Salvatore Harmon is a new media designer of contemporary forms of human expression. His work ranges from archaic media like film and analog audio devices to interactive video/sound environments and performance based DVDs/websites.

Based out of Chicago, Harmon curates art, programs music and film screenings, and designs web-based applications to further promote an expansive music and art scene that has roots all over the globe. Harmon works with artists, musicians and programmers to create new and challenging forms of media programming and art presentation to an international audience.

His recent works include a feature length music performance documentary of the Chicago Underground Trio titled Chronicle, a collection of his early film based performance works on DVD, and a new feature titled "The Philosopher's Stone" - all out in 2007.

Transcendental Territories will open on April 13 at Inspire Fine Art in Chicago at 425 East Illinois Street at the River East Art Center. The exhibition will continue until May 13th, 2007. The official opening night reception will be on April 13 from 5:30 pm 8:30 pm. Please visit www.inspirefineart.com for further information on the Chicago exhibit.
